Developed in this paper is a simplified procedure to evaluate dynamic stability and accumulative separate movements of cohesive embankments subjected to earthquake motion. Based on comparative studies for numerical results, the earthquake-resistant behavior of earth dams or soil slopes is systematically examined from various related aspects such as limit resistance, actual seismic response and potential permanent displacement.
