COMPARISON OF GROUND VIBRATION CHARACTERISTICS AMONG SEVERAL DISTRICTS MAINLY WITH MICROTREMOR MEASUREMENT
|
´˜^i‰pjF
Microtremor measurements were performed in several districts to compare the local soil conditions among them. The condition is full of variety from extremly soft soil in Mexico City 1.0 firm basement rock. Therefore predominant period and amplitude of microtremors distributed in wide range. It may suggest the fact that such kind of local soil condition will be effective even on ground motions during earthquake. The fundamental characteristics of microtremors are also reviewed and discussed based on past researches and measured microtremors in this study. It was pointed out that the difference between Kanai's microtremors due to human activities and microseisms due to weather condition should be made sure for evaluating the local site effects with microtremors.
