This report describes the seismic capacity of existing reinforced concrete buildings in Japan, comparing with that of damaged buildings due to recent severe earthquakes. Statistical data used herein are seismic capacity of existing reinforced concrete buildings in Shizuoka Prefecture, both before and after strengthening.
