This investigation discusses a special class of structures, five span continuous rigid-frame bridges, and analysis the influence of access of eigenvalues and coupled modes on the response in seismic response analysis by modal analysis. Seismic input motion is selected carefully and response spectrum analysis (RMS Method, CQC Method) and time history response analysis are performed simultaneously to compare the results. It can be approximately determined whether the effect of a coupled mode is generated or not by comparing the angular velocity ratio of each mode at the point where the eigenvalue is calculated. The CQC (Complete Quadratic Combination) Method is found advantageous when the effect of a coupled mode is pronounced. This report analysis the behavior of the dynamic response and suggests the use of diagram for evaluating correlation coefficients as an control of the CQC Method. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
