The work presented in this paper deals with the analysis of the data obtained from a dense seismograph array network. Several properties or strong ground motions or engineering importance are studied by using the acceleration ground motions obtained by the array network. The emphasis is laid on the evaluation of ground strains and their characteristics. The effects or space variation of ground motions in a region with a limited dimension of approximately 150 m on the response of a SDOF system are demonstrated through several examples of very recent earthquakes. The reasonable accuracy of the evaluated ground strains is demonstrated through several examples and the efficiency of the dense seismograph array data in providing necessary information on the engineering properties or strong motions is shown. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
