Q-value in deep rocks lying on ray pass and the amplitude of the 'source spectrum' at high frequencies were estimated from 25 strong motion records observed at 60 meters depth under the ground at Shibaura, Tokyo. The Q-value of S-wave, which was assumed to be independent of frequency, was estimated 11000 in the crust and the upper mantle. Logarithm of the acceleration amplitude of S-wave (As), which was assumed to be flat at high frequencies on the source, scaled with magnitude. 'As' was resulted to be roughly proportional to one-third power of the seismic moment. Meanwhile P-wave amplitude (Ap) was also calculated and compared with As. The mean ratio of As to Ap was about 3.2. This ratio is nearly equal to theoretical value 5.2 from a point source of double-coupled forces. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
