Pipe stresses during earthquakes are influenced by relative displacement of ambient ground. The ground strains due to the relative displacement of the ground are closely related to magnitude of earthquakes, epicentral distances, subsoil conditions, properties of wave propagations in surface layer and so on. Analyses of records obtained by two dimensional seismometer array observation at the Tokyo International Airport were carried out to know the behavior of the pipelines during earthquakes. Steel pipe (diameter:355.6mm, thickness:11.1mm) is assumed to be buried along the observation line and the pipe stresses are calculated from the ground displacement. The stresses calculated by seismic deformation method notified in Ordinance of Technical Code for Petroleum Pipeline and by dynamic response analyses are compared with those from the observation. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
