Seismic response analysis of a Concrete hammerhead bridge founded on alluvial soil through well foundation is presented in this paper. Possible variation of parameters such as depth of water in the river scour level, foundation level and soil properties are considered and its influence is studied on the seismic response. The structural response of the bridge and bearing displacements are seen to depend significantly on soil stiffness and foundation embedment parameters. The vertical displacement caused in the superstructure due to horizontal ground motion is quite appreciable. The relative displacements at articulations need special design of bearings. A detail is recommended for the same along with holding down arrangement of the suspended span to prevent its jumping. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
