A method for evaluating the earthquake resistance of structure based on the energy concept is presented. Setting various parameters which represent both characteristics of earthquakes and structures, and using three types of hysteretic characteristics and five earthquake motions, the influence of these parameters on the quantity of energy imparted by earthquakes was studied.
