Inelastic seismic response of a six-story three bay diamondbraced frame and a K-braced frame due to first ten seconds of the 1967 Koyna earthquake is studied in this paper. The effect of using moment-resistant connections or pin-connections with girders in the outer unbraced bays and, hence the interaction between the outer bays and inner bay is considered. The hysteresis behaviour of steel bracing members was represented by a buckling model which is based It is concluded that interaction results on experimental results. in lesser ductility requirement in girders. It is also noticed that K-braced frames are better than diamond braced frames. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
