In order to develop the procedure for evaluating the seismic stability of slopes on saturated sand deposits, shaking table tests were carried out on two large model embankments. The models were destroyed due to strong excitations, and the significant generation of pore pressures was observed in sand deposits. The slip surfaces from the slope of embankment to the sand deposit were estimated. It was concluded that the circular slip analysis in consideration of seismic force and pore pressure was valid for the seismic stability analysis of slopes on saturated sand deposits. The time histories of accelerations calculated by the total stress method showed a good agreement with the observed ones at the points where pore pressure ratios were relatively low. The method for estimating the pore pressure changes in two-dimensional soils was presented and the calculated time histories were compared with the observed ones. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
