During the 1978 Off Miyagi Prefecture Earthquake, some areas of Ishinomaki Port liquefied. Bore hole data were obtained for the liquefied and some of the non-liquefied areas. Accelerations were also measured on a rock outcrop nearby. These data were used to test the capability of an effective stress model for analyzing liquefaction potential.
