The materials of rock and earth fill dams are assumed to be isotropic, non-homogeneous and visco-elastic body. A numerical method with F.E.M. is examined through model vibration tests. The visco-elastic constants of models are estimated from resonant curves of models subjected to several sinusoidal ground motions of various amplitudes of acceleration. The agreement of numerical solutions with resonant curves of models is acceptable. With respect to impact vibration tests, the numerical solutions agree qualitatively well with the experimental results. Moreover, the method is examined through the earthquake records of an actual rock fill dam of which elastic constants are decided from measurement of elastic waves caused artificially and propagating into the dam. The agreement of numerical solutions with observed earthquake records is satisfactory too. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
