The observation of seismic waves in the longer period range, from the view point of engineering seismology, was carried out at Kawasaki near Tokyo Metropolis. For the recordings, velocity type seismometer having natural period of 5 sec was used. Fourier analysis of the earthquake records, in the period range from 1 to 10 sec, was made. The magnitudes of the analysed earthquakes were between 4.3 and 6.4. Through the study, the average velocity spectrum of the earthquakes with M † 5.5 was found to be considerably flat in the frequency range from 0.2 to 1.0 Hz. This is in favor of Aki's revised model B. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
