The analysis of the seismic interactionbetween soil and buried pipes which involves the slippage of the pipes induced throug the frictional interface is presented in the paper. Closed form solutions of imperfectly bonded soil and jointless pipes to steady harmonic P- and S-waves are obtained under the assumptions: (1) the soil is linear, elastic and infinite space, (2) the pipes are elastic and straight, and (3) the slippage between the soil and the pipes occurs when the boundary shear stress equals the frictional one (=Coulomb). Those solitions are also extended to the analysis of the pipes subjected to randomly vibrating waves. Then the periodically jointed pipes are investigated by replacing them with statically equivalent uniform pipes. ƒL[ƒ[ƒhi‰pjF - ‹LŽ–‹æ•ªF - ‹æ•ª @@@ˆÏˆõ‰ï˜_•¶W
