This paper concerns the centrifuge experiments on wave-induced instability of sand beds. A flap-type wave generator was developed for the use under centrifugal conditions. The quasi-standing waves were imposed on the horizontal deposits which were submerged into the sea of silicone oil with 50cSt viscosity. The pore pressure time histories indicated that the temporal liquefaction occured at shallow depths of a loose deposit. A one-dimensional analytical solution was derived to analyze the measured pore pressure response.
