拡張個別要素法(EDEH)により1994年ノースリッジ地震で崩壊した道路橋のシミュレーションを行った｡3次元解析により､道路橋のけたの外れによる荷重の再配分と進行性破壊の状況が現実的にシミュレーションされた｡

A higway bridge connecting State Highway 14 and Interstate Highway 5 collapse after the Northridge California earthquake on Monday 17,January 1994.The collapse of this bridge was simulated using 3-dimensional Modified Distinct Element Method.The results allowed us to visualize the redistribution of the forces and understand the failure mechanism of this type of structures.
