抄録（和）：
1993年1月15日20時6分に発生した釧路沖地震(M=7.8)により､釧路地域は震度VIの烈震を被り､釧路市､白糠町､音別町など主として北海道東南部沿岸地域において､地盤や土木施設等に多大の被害が発生した｡当該地域には､地震動特性の研究のため電力中央研究所が全国的に展開した岩盤上の強地震観測点(厚岸､根室等)があり､これらの観測点で貴重な記録を得ることが出来た｡本研究は､電力中央研究所と北海道電力が協力して実施した現地調査に基づいて､地震の特徴と地盤､土木構造物､及びライフラインの被害の概要について述べたものである｡

抄録（英）：
The Kushiro-oki Earthquake of 7.8 magnitude occurred at 20:06,15th January 1993,whose seismic center was 103 km deep,off shore of Kushiro city,Hokkaido,north of Japan.The precise important earthquake data have been recorded at the two earthquake observation stations (Akkeshi,Nemuro) of CRIEPI on the basement rock near the epicenter of this earthquake.This report describes on the charactersitics of the earthquake and earthquake damages on the ground,civil engineering structures and lifelinse such as electricity,by means of field survey and interviews.
