航空写真測量により,能代市(日本海中部地震)および新潟市(新潟地震)で測定された地盤の水平方向の永久変位に基づき,永久変位量に対する要因分析および永久変位量と地震被害の関係を定量的に検討した。この結果,1)永久変位量は,地表面あるいは液状化層の傾斜および液状化層厚と相関性が認められる,2)家屋,埋設管被害と永久変位量の間にはある程度の相関が認められるが,永久変位以外の原因によると考えられる被害も発生している,などのことが明らかとなった

By using the measured data of liquefaction-induced permanent ground displacement due to the 1969 Niigata, the 1971 San-Fernando and the 1983 Nihonkai-Chubu eart hquakes, the primary factors governing the magnitude of the ground displacement were quantitatively discussed. It was clarified that the thickness of the liquefied layers and the gradient of the ground surface and/or the liquefied layer were most influential on the displ acement magnitude, and an experimental formula was proposed for the estimation o f the permanent ground displacement. Also, quantitative correlations of the magnitude of the permanent ground displac ement with the degree of damage to structures such as houses and buried pipeline s were analyzed. Furthermore, permanent ground strain was calculated from the observed displaceme nts, and the correlation with earthquake damage such as ground failure was discu ssed.
